Unpaid phone bills cause 58,000 frozen accounts
One third of total debt created by 1,499 citizens
The period of gradual decrease of the number of citizens with frozen accounts, which had lasted since mid-2018, ended in October 2019, when the number of those who were not able to settle their bills increased by 828 to total 243,655. According to Fina’s records, phone bills are the most problematic since one-third of the insolvent owe money to companies from the IT&C sector. Around one-third of the total debt comes from only 1,499 citizens who owe more than HRK 1m each, mostly to banks and other financial institutions.
