The drilling of a second Ucka Tunnel pipe to start next year
Croatia warned by the EU
Croatia was warned by the EC recently because the tunnels there do not comply with the 2004-54-EC Directive about minimum safety requirements for tunnels longer than 500 meters in the transeuropean network. In order to have all these tunnels comply with the Directive estimates show the amount of HRK 2 billion that needs to be invested. Most of that amount should be invested in the second pipe of the Ucka Tunnel, around HRK 1.48 billion, and into second pipes of the Three Kings and Brezovica tunnels located on the Zagreb – Macelj freeway, totalling around HRK 500 million.
