How fast would Croatian economy grow without tourism?
Investments remain a big problem
In the third quarter of this year, Croatia's economy was growing by 2.9% y/y – more than in Q2 and slightly slower than in the same period of 2018. This growth rate looks good, analyst Zeljko Lovrincevic of the Institute of Economics says, but investments remain a big problem in Croatia, although more EU funds are being drawn. The national employers' association HUP is wishing for faster growth and points out that, even with a good tourist season, Croatia's economy has not managed to achieve a rate above 3%.
