We are wealthier by average Poles, but poorer than Greeks
The total financial wealth of an average Croatian citizen last year reached EUR 14,924
According to the results of the 10th Global Wealth Report published by Allianz, the total financial wealth of an average Croatian citizen last year reached EUR 14,924, while the net financial wealth, reduced by liabilities, was EUR 10,561. With the value of net financial wealth of an average citizen, Croatia was at 33rd place again last year, in front of China and Poland, but behind Greece and Lithuania. Most EU member states are ahead of Croatia, including Hungary, Slovenia and Czech Republic. Bank deposits account for more than half of the financial wealth of an average Croatian citizen, while insurance and pension savings account for a quarter. Last year, the total financial wealth in Croatia was up by 4%, compared to a 3.3% growth the year before, but liabilities grew 4.6%.
