Upward trend in economic activity in Croatia
GDP may grow by 4.7%
In April 2019, the CEIZ composite index calculated by the Zagreb Institute of Economics (EIZ) reached its highest level since late 2016 and compared to the previous month its value increased by 0.8 points. The April level of this business cycle indicator points towards a conclusion that economic activity in the country has picked up since the beginning of the year and that the trend has been growing y/y. Based on CEIZ, the EIZ is projecting that GDP may grow by 4.7% in the second quarter y/y, but is keeping certain reservations due to the fact that May and June data have not been processed yet, Slobodna Dalmacija reports.
