Russia wants to invest more in Croatia

The Croatian chamber of commerce HGK organized a business forum yesterday, on the occasion of Moscow Days in Zagreb. HGK President Luka Burilovic pointed out that their trade between Croatia and Russia increased by 132% in the first two months of 2019, y/y. Russia's ambassador Anvar Azimov claims that trade between Russia and Croatia returned to its previous level (before sanctions) last year, but this is not evident from official data in Croatia. "The EU and the USA cannot offer to Croatia as many investments as Russia can,' Azimov claims, convinced that Russian-Croatian trade has the potential to reach USD 3bn/year, Novi list reports.
