Lex Agrokor discussed with Brussels
Agrokor's debt won’t become a public debt
Brussels confirmed yesterday that the European Commission is in contact with the Government of Croatia about the so-called lex Agrokor, but declined to unveil the details of their talks for now. The EC only said that there have been "constructive contacts" to make sure that all steps or decisions by Croatian authorities are in conformity with EU rules. PM Andrej Plenkovic asserted that he sees no problem with the legislation of extraordinary administration in systemically important companies, since it does not involve direct subsidies, nor will Agrokor's debt be allowed to become public debt.
