First time: HRK home loans cheaper than EUR loans
Consumer confidence index at a record high
Commercial banks in Croatia continue to decrease their interest rates on lending, so in February the prices of newly contracted loans to households and companies were lower relative to January 2019. For the first time, the costs of HRK home loans were smaller than the costs of EUR loans. Banks approved total HRK 1.2bn in loans to households and enterprises in February 2019, and the y/y growth rate reached 5% (+2.8% for business and +6.6% for households). The Croatian National Bank also points out that the consumer confidence index is at a record high, Poslovni dnevnik reports.
