Croatia still the only EU country outside the European blockchain partnership
EUR 300m for blockchain projects by 2020
Although it signed the joint Declaration of cooperation on Artificial Intelligence in July last year, as the last EU member state – after harsh criticism by the local IT industry and pressures by local business associations, Croatia is still yet to sign the Declaration on the European Blockchain Partnership. Croatia is the only EU member state that has not signed this declaration yet, although the EC has opened a EUR 300m fund for blockchain projects by 2020. At the panel on blockchain at EBRD’s General Meeting in Sarajevo, Croatia was not represented by a single state official, and the only Croatian representative was president of the Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies Association (UBIK) president Vlado Hrdal.
