Another intervention by central bank

Purchasing euros

Last Friday, the 9th, the Croatian central bank HNB intervened in the foreign currency market by purchasing 360.6m euros from commercial banks at the average rate of HRK 7.395028/EUR; it injected HRK 2.27bn into the system this way. This was the second FX intervention by HNB this year. In 2018, HNB bought total EUR 1.8bn from commercial banks, all in an effort to keep the national currency from appreciating too much.
