35,000 uninsured vehicles on Croatian roads
National programme of safety in road transport
The number of uninsured vehicles on roads in Croatia is a high 35,000, according to an estimate by the Croatian Insurance Bureau (HUO). They say that uninsured vehicles are frequently those that would not pass technical inspection. HUO and the Croatia's interior ministry have been conducting a national programme of safety in road transport since 2009 and since then the number of uninsured vehicles has dropped from around 300,000.
