2.5% of GDP invested in R&D by 2023
'There is no alternative to innovation in the structure of future growth of economy,' Croatia's minister of economy, entrepreneurship and crafts said at the opening of the 17th international innovation fair ARCA 2019. Minister Darko Horvat also reminded about many R&D-focused tenders that are open already or will open soon. Total of HRK 2-2.2bn will be invested through these tenders, Horvat said further, adding that, together with investments by the real sector the number grows to HRK 5bn of investments into research, development and innovation by the end of 2020. This means the rate of 2.5% of GDP relating to investments in R&D could be reached in 2023, not in 2030, as previously projected.
